1. Begin Blogging
If you think the word "blog" is just a term that's popped up recently, one that describes a single-view perspective written by someone that is generally just expressing his or her opinions, it is time to re-think your thought process. Blogs are vital for businesses, and if you don't currently have one running on your website, you're missing out on some great opportunities to tell your audience more about yourself, offer them valuable information and content, and help search engines find you.
Basically, a blog gives you the opportunity to create a website that's rich in keywords, which can drive new traffic your way. Use your blog real estate to demonstrate your relevance to your audience and write about topics that show that you are an authority figure in your profession.
2. Give Directives
Call to actions can never be stressed enough. With each page that you present to your customers, and with each blog post and social media thread that you make, you have some type of objective. Before you publish your pages or pieces, make a note of its purpose, and make sure your audience understands that point. Design your content so that you're giving directives to your audience. Do you want them to contact you for further information? Should they check out your event calendar to learn where they can see you in action? Are there pictures of your amazing work in an online photo gallery that you can't wait to show off? Choose words that definitively guide your audience members where you want them to go, and use hyperlinks to make it easy for your customers to get there.
3. Be User-Friendly
Easy-to-understand navigation is imperative. If your site is too cluttered or confusing, you're pushing people away long before they get the opportunity to learn anything about you. While you may have a million things to say on each page, focus on keeping your message clean, clear, and concise. Make sure you have enough white space to let your consumers' eyes rest, and don't overcrowd your site with overwhelming words, pictures, or graphics. In terms of your site's designs, make sure everything is organized and makes sense. If you're using drop-downs, the main category needs to be obvious. If you're using a parallax layout, create links that make it easy to jump up and down the page.
Lead generation can't occur if you aren’t giving your potential leads a reason to become leads. Be open to feedback, especially when it comes to your navigation and design.
